And I say 'official' because last year I enjoyed Mother's Day with a baby bump.
The Friday before Mother's Day I met my Mom, my sister Dana and a few of Jack's sweet cousins out at the outlets for some shopping! We found some really good deals out there as usual, but realized we didn't really need much of anything these days.
After having so many garage sales together, we tend to know what we have too much of. :)
After a walk around the outlets, we headed to lunch. If you know our family you know our immediate go to would be some good ol' Mexican food, but to my surprise my mom suggested "let's go get some good pizza!"
Our excuse was 'the kids would really enjoy it!'
Truth is, I think we were the ones that really enjoyed it!
We had a really great time! We enjoyed the visit and got to talk "mom" talk. It was definitely a great first mother's day pre-party :)
Saturday I enjoyed cleaning up the house, enjoying some sunshine, listening to country music and having a few dances with the little man.
He enjoyed his first ice cream treat
outside on the back porch.
Although, I think Maudie was a little jealous of him getting to share and not her.
The next morning I was treated to this :)
Richard was suppose to work the full day from home, but as I started to get ready for Mass, he came in the room to say they decided to cancel for the day. So he watched Jack while I went to Mass. I was pretty excited about this because I was able to really enjoy the Mass, although I missed having my boys with me on this special day. I was reminded once again how g o o d God is and how thankful I am for my supportive husband and most especially for my vocation as a mother.
When I got back to the house, we got back in the car to get lunch at Rudy's.
Jack had some turkey for the first time, which I think he really enjoyed!
The extra treat will be happening Tuesday! Richard set up a lunch date for me and my sister and then I get to go to Josephines!
I'm beyond excited about this!
I hope you all had a beautiful Mother's Day!
