We Are Busy at 2 Months!

We've got a lot of catching up to do!
First things first, our little man is 2 months and growing strong!

This month he is no longer . . .
  • ...having screamfests in the evening (yay!).
  • ...having poopy blowouts (double yay!).
  • ...screaming during bathtime.
He is instead . . .
  • ...giving Mama and Daddy tons of smiles and lots of happy noises!
  • ...in cloth diapers pretty much full time and Mama is loving it!
  • ...enjoying his baths, and actually getting upset when it's time to get dressed!
  • ...holding his head up much better during tummy time.
  • ...occasionally rolling over from tummy to back.
  • ...going to sleep around 9:00pm with a wake up around 2:00am and 6:00am.
  • ...not going hungry! 2 month check up he weighed in at 12 lbs 14oz. Woh Buddy!

We are still . . .

  • ...enjoying every minute of this little man.
  • ...madly in love with him!

This Week . . .

This week has been an eventful one, and
not one I would want to revisit again.

Tuesday night we followed our routine . . .

A good swaddle, a good feeding and hope for a good night sleep.

During Jack's 4am normal feeding, things didn't go so normal.

He had two episodes of what seemed like "passing out" while feeding. Something I never want to experience again.

That morning we called his pediatrician to let him know what happened. He advised that we take him to Texas Children's Emergency Room to be examined.

Wednesday was a long day of waiting. Waiting to be seen, waiting for the EKG reports and waiting for blood tests.

All to say Jack is a healthy boy!

We have been doing our best to monitor this little guy.

He gave us quite the scare.

So far things are back to normal.
He had a follow up with the Pediatrician on Friday.
We learned that he is weighing in at 11lbs 5 ounces. He has had a great few days since that crazy morning. Though this week scared us like crazy, it has made us realize how blessed we are to have our healthy little man!

He is just happy to be comfy at home exploring again!

Just Relaxing In The Tub . . .

It's official . . .
Jack now enjoys his bath time!
(We shall see how long this lasts. For now his smiles at bath time make Mama and Daddy all kinds of happy!)

F A M I L Y

All Because Two People Fell In Love . . .

This week, we gathered as family to say goodbye to the man that meant the most to us.

Ask any of us and we will say he was the best Daddy, the best Gramps, and the best Great Gramps (aka "Bob") you could ever ask for.

He was the glue that held us together as family.

With his passing we realized that it was up to us to continue what him and Granny started . . .

. . . a beautiful family and making amazing memories!

It was so hard to say goodbye.

But to know his Irish eyes are smiling again with Granny gives us such comfort and joy!

October Fun :)

I have never really liked Halloween, besides the candy part.
However, this year, I have come to realize I have really fallen in love with pumpkins.
Not only in our home decor...

But in the smell of our kitchen . . .

And the taste of sweet pumpkin bread . . .

In the evening specials on television . . .

And this year in our new little pumpkin . . .

This year for Halloween, Daddy was adventurous and had two costumes. We forgot to get a picture of the last one, which was way better. He was a rugby player, scrum cap and all! Mama dressed up as a mom, complete with spit up on her shoulder! Jack dressed up as a cute little pumpkin.

Our little pumpkin was wore out after handing out candy!
What a wonderful month of October it has been!

1 Month Already?

This has been one incredible month!

Incredibly busy.

Incredibly fun.

Incredibly fast.

All because of one INCREDIBLE baby boy! :)

Mr. Jack Anthony is a busy little man.

In just one month...
  • Jack has met his family and friends through dinner dates, lunch dates, a trip to the airport, and many Skype calls.
  • He has spent his nights in the bouncer, bedside in the pack 'n play, and has graduated to the pack n' play closest to the door!
  • He is slowly getting the night routine down. 11 pm bedtime, a late night feeding around 4 am and wake up and cuddle with Mama around 8 am. :)
  • He has trained Mama and Daddy to make him the happiest baby in the world. This month they have become pros at the 5 S's (sideways, swaddle, suck, shoosh and sway)
  • He is slowly transitioning to cloth diapers while at home.
  • He has had his first weekend get away to Brazos Country, where he rolled from his tummy to his back two times in a row!
  • He has also had a few shopping dates, which his Mama thoroughly enjoyed.
  • And to top off this busy month, Jack Anthony is beginning to show off his sweet smile!
Yay! Happy 1 month birthday sweet boy!
